ASTM A210 grade A-1 steel is medium-carbon steel. A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be either hot-finished or cold-finished, as specified. The hardness of A210 grade A-1 tubes shall not exceed 79 HRB or 143 HB. ASTM A210 grade A-1 is equivalent to ASME SA210 grade A-1. A210 grade A-1 is shorten as A210A1.

The outside diameter size of ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes is 1/2 in. to 5 in. [12.7 to 127 mm]. The min. wall thickness size of ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes is 0.035 to 0.500 in. [0.9 to 12.7 mm]. A210 grade A-1 tubes with other dimensions can also be furnished, provided the tubes comply with all other requirements of the ASTM A210/A210 specification.

For each reduction of 0.01 % below the specified carbon maximum of ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes, an increase of 0.06 % manganese above the specified maximum will be permitted up to a maximum of 1.35 %。

Medium-carbon steel ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes mechanical property:

Mechanical property requirements do not apply to ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes smaller than 1/8 in. [3.2 mm] in inside diameter or 0.015 in. [0.4 mm] in thickness.

Hot finished ASTM A210 grade A-1 boiler and superheater tubes need not be heat treated. Cold finished A210 grade A-1 tubes shall be given a subcritical anneal, a full anneal, or a normalizing heat treatment after the final cold finishing process.
