ASME SA179 steel tube is low carbon cold drawn seamless pipe for heat exchanger and condenser use. The SA179 steel tube shall be heat treated after the final cold drawn pass at a temperature of 1200°F [650°C] or higher. ASME SA179 steel is equivalent to ASTM A179.
