For ASME SA106 grade C seamless pipe SA106 Gr C fluid carbon steel pipes, NPS 1-1/2” and under may be either hot finished or cold drawn. NPS 2” and larger shall be hot finished unless otherwise specified.

For ASME SA106 grade C seamless pipe SA106 Gr C fluid carbon steel pipes, the cold-drawn pipe shall be heat treated after the final cold draw pass at temperature of 1200 °F [650 °C] or higher. While the hot-finished pipe needs not be heat treated. When hot-finished pipe is heat treated, it shall be heat treated at temperature of 1200 °F [650 °C] or higher.
