Both P11 and 12Cr1MoVG steel tube are one of the steel grades used in high pressure environment.

What is the difference between P11 and 12Cr1MoVG steel tube?
1. Different implementation standards:
The executive standard of P11 steel tube is ASME standard of American Standard, and the executive standard of 12Cr1MoVG steel tube is GB / T5310.

2. Different chemical composition:
P11 steel tube chemical composition: C 0.05-0.15, Si 0.5-1.00, Mn 0.3-0.6, P ≤ 0.025, S ≤ 0.025, Cr 1.0-1.0, Mo 1.44-0.65.
Chemical composition of 12Cr1MoVG steel tube: C: 0.08-0.15, Si: 0.17-0.37, Mn: 0.40-0.70, Cr: 0.90-1.20, V: 0.15-0.30, Mo: 0.25-0.35.

3. Different mechanical properties:
P11 steel tube mechanical properties: tensile strength: ≥ 482 MPa, yield strength: ≥ 347 MPa, elongation after fracture: ≥ 22%.
12Cr1MoV steel tube mechanical properties: tensile strength: ≥ 490 MPa, yield strength: ≥ 245MPa, elongation after fracture: ≥ 22%, reduction of area: ≥ 50%, impact energy: ≥ 71J.

The full name of P11 steel tube is SA335M P11, which belongs to the nominal pipe of ferrite alloy steel for high temperature. 12Cr1MoVG steel tube is for superheater pipe, header and steam pipe above high pressure boiler with pipe wall temperature ≤ 580 ℃.
